Angelic Voice

Here is Britain's Andrew Johnston singing a short competition number on television. His voice makes the judges cry.

The Latest Child Prodigy Singer

In the quest for the ultimate child singer Britney Spears was the darling for quite a while. Then there was -- and is -- Charice Pempengco. Now feast your ears on the voice of seven-year-old Connie Talbot. The Ave Maria was sung when she was seven. She is now eight and was born November 20, 2000.

Here's an example of how a bibliography should look. The data was obtained from the Library of Congress. Notice that I listed the books in alphabetical order by the last name of the author. There is a period at the end of each entry.

Great Web Hosting Service

Almost everyone today uses the Internet. They use it for finding information and also for advertising themselves. They use a computer to connect with others. They probably have, or are thinking about getting, a Web presence. There are numerous webhosting companies, all vying for your business and offering various different terms and conditions, different incentives, and different requirements and pricing structures. The way to separate the wheat from the chaff is to read reviews of web hosting services to see which one sounds best for you. Of course, you could ask friends or family, but they probably only have had experience with one or two companies. The review site linked above will put you quickly in touch with many more, as well as letting you hear professional reviews by some of the industry's top Web users. If you visit it you'll certainly learn something of value about how to go about obtaining your own Web presence. So, if you are looking for a great web hosting service, why wouldn't try this site today. You will be glad you did.

The Earth's Axis

What if the earth's axis shifted? This is the intriguing question posed by Charles Hapgood's The Path of the Pole. The axis of the earth is the tilt of its spin relative to its orbit around the sun. The earth is currently tilted 23 degrees off the plane of the ecliptic (the path of the planets around the sun). This means that the equator is usually pointing at the sun. But what if the earth were tilted so that the South Pole was pointing at the sun? That would have big consequences for us. The polar ice cap would melt and the seas would rise and most animals and humans would perish off the face of the earth. It is perhaps no coincidence that Albert Einstein wrote a preface to Hapgood's book. The great physicist took this threat very seriously because the earth's axis "does not run straight up and down at right angles to the plane of the sun's equator, but slants at an angle. Any change in this angle, in the position of this axis, would be very important for us" (Hapgood 1). The importance of this subject and the fact that Einstein wrote a preface is not enough for most scientists. Today Hapgood is regarded as little more than a wrongheaded and misguided thinker. Yet I desperately want to read his book. To me it sounds like an amazing theory.

YAY MagNext

Many historians of popular culture tell us that the need for recreation existed as far back as the time of the ancient Egyptians. That's right. Even the ancients played for fun. And today that urge is still present and can be fulfilled by visiting various online gaming sites. One such site is known as MagNext and its game is called a MMORPG. This game is all about magnetic spheres and using them to play. It is different from baseball because you do not play outside. You play online. From your home, using your computer. Magnext Virtual is an online community where you can play the game too. You can even sign up to play the game for nothing. I tried it and thought it was amusing and well designed. The colorful background was entertaining. I would play the game any time I had some free time. If you are reading this blog you might like to play too. By playing this game you are taking part in a cyber revolution. The revolution encompasses the world of online games. The future of games is only going to become more amazing. By 2010 we won't even recognize the things that are available online. Try MagNext today and taste the future.

Edgar Rice Burroughs Style

The style of Edgar Rice Burroughs is different from what you find in most SF today. For one thing Burroughs was a writer who preferred to focus on the adventure side of his stories rather than on technology. For another he envisioned vast civilizations on the planets he wrote about. He was a world creator par excellence. More than other authors, he also knew how to introduce you to a story. He usually began in the present time and on Earth, in familiar surroundings. In Beyond the Farthest Star, for example, a man dies on earth during a war battle. The reader can easily identify with him. Then Burroughs transports us to Poloda, a far-off planet. In this way the transition is smooth, which is unlike many modern SF books that start in unfamiliar territory. Burroughs was a master storyteller and modern authors can learn many lessons from his writing style.

MagNext Virtual Games

My favorite online game are chess and scrabble. After that I will play any electronic game, as long as it is fun. This is why I have to say that I was drawn to the experience of playing MagNext . The game is a type known as MMORPG and it has little "magnetic" spheres that look like different colors. There is something mysterious about it. It is also free and you can play as long as you wish. The Magnetic Virtual is an online community where you can imagine you are an astronaut or an inhabitant of a future world. You are in control of your avatar. You can also meet other people. You can chat. You can make new friends. These people can be from all over the world. I can imagine a day in the not too distant future when these friends might even be from other planets. But for now we're limited to mother Earth. The game has a lot going for it. For one thing, it is attractive visually. For another, it is easy to learn. And finally, it offers a thrilling adventure. We encourage all readers to try it and see how much fun it is. It's also safe and harmless fun for young people. There are children we know who would love it. You can see an example of how the game looks above, and this will give you and idea of how colorful it is. I am strongly encourage you guys to check this out and sign up the MagNext today. Believe me, it's fun.
